<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the role of authoritative parenting, parentsâ education, number of siblings toward independence at an early age children in kindergarten IT Salman Al Farisi. This research used quantitative approach with correlation type. The research subject was 53 students of kindergarten IT Salman Al Farisi Yogyakarta. Data collection instruments used in the form of guidelines for observation of independence, authoritative parenting scale, parentsâ education questionnaire, and the questionnaire of siblings numbers. Data analysis techniques used multiple regression. The results showed that there were positive and highly significant role between authoritative parenting, parentsâ education, and number of siblings toward independence together amounted to 39.6%. Specifically there is a positive role and very significant between authoritative parenting towards independence with a contribution of 27.2%, there is a positive role and significant correlation between parentsâ education towards independence with a contribution of 21.2%, there is a positive role and very significant between number of siblings toward independence with contributions 51.6%. The results of this study can be used as information for guidance and counseling teachers in providing information to parents about appropriate parenting for children to make them grow and develop optimally.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to explore the high qualified counselorsâ personal competence at SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. This research is a descriptive research. The participants of this research were 169 students consisting of class X, XI and XII class selected by simple random sampling. The instrument for the data collection is questionnaires of counselorsâ personal competence. There are four aspects that were outlined in the questionnaires namely, godly and devoted to the Almighty God, respect and uphold the values of humanity, individualist and independent, having integrity and stability of a strong personality, having high performance quality. The data analysis techniques used a simple calculation in which grouping the data into three criterias, they are, poor, moderate, and good. The results showed that the expected counselorsâ personal competence at SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta reaching the score of each are 50.3% in good criteria, 49.7% in moderate citeria and 0% in poor criteria.The results of this study can be used as the basis for the development of counselorsâ personal competence in order to become high qualifeid counselors as expected by the students. The counselors who have a strong personality as the expected by students can improve students enthusiasm to acquire the guidance and counseling services at schools.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to the role of permissive parenting, school atmosphere, and achievement motivation towards studentsâ truant behavior. This is a correlational research. The quantitative approch is used in this research. The participants were 200 students of SMK PIRI 1 Yogyakarta. There was a form of scale of truant behavior, permissive parenting, school atmosphere and achivement motivation that used as the instrument of this research. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Based on the analysis results, the obtained data showed a coefficient of 22.044 with the sig. 0,000. The results of the study showed that there is a significant influence between permissive parenting towards studentsâ truant behavior , school atmosphere and achievement motivation by 25,2%. Specifically, there is a significant influence between permissive parenting towards studentsâ truant behavior by 18,3%, there is no significant influence between school atmosphere towards studentsâ truant behavior by 1,6%, there is a significant influence between achievement motivation towards studentsâ truant behavior by 24,5%. This research findings can be considered as useful information for the parents in order to provide an effective parenting for their children. On the other hand, these findings can be used as the ponder in developing guidance and counseling services to reduce studentsâ truant behavior.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to investigate the implementation of guidance and counseling services conducted in MAN 2 Banjarnegara. This research is a qualitative descriptive study.The participants are the four guidance and counseling teachers selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection instrument used an interview guidelines that is supported by interviews recording and documentation. Thi study used Miles and Huberman models as the data analysis techniques. The results showed that the implementation of guidance and counseling services in the MAN 2 Banjarnegara in the form of orientation services, information services , placement and distribution services, tutoring services, individual counseling, group counseling services are in the good category. The results of this study is useful for counseling and guidance teachers as the basis for the development of guidance and counseling services that are effective in accordance with the needs and development of the students.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is an attempt to reduce the excessive habit of playing online games through group discussion techniques for 8th grade students of class D in SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta in the academic year 2013/2014. This study is an action research. The participants were 10 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used are questionnaires of playing online games habit and observation. The analysis used in this research is the t-test formula. The treatment using group discussion techniques was given to the students after the guidance and counseling services were done. The results of this study showed that the average pretest percentage of the habit of playing online games is 90,9%, while the average posttest results is 57,6%. The results showed that there is a reduction of playing online games habit through group dicussion techniques for 8th grade students of class D in SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. This study can be used as a basis information for guidance and counseling teachers in lessening the habit of playing online games through group discussion techniques.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effectiveness of peer counseling to increase prosocial behavior of students of SMP Negeri 8 Madiun. The research design study is pre-experimental design. The research subject was eight students taken through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection instrument used a scale of prosocial behavior. The effectiveness of peer counseling test to increase prosocial behavior of students was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test formula. The analysis of data shows that the students prosocial average score change was 61 or 36 % , from a pretest data average was 85 or 49 %, to 146 , or 85 % on average of the posttest data. The results showed that peer counseling is effective to increase prosocial behavior of students of SMP Negeri 8 Madiun. The results of this study can be used as reference material for the guidance and counseling teachers in the preparation of peer counseling program to develop studentsâ prosocial behavior.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the students perception of the orientation services of class X SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta. This research is descriptive quantitative. The participants consisted 104 students of 10th grade at SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta selected by random sampling techniques. The instruments used in data collection are questionnaires. The obtained data of the students perception of orientation services were analyzed using simple calculation by categorizing them into three criteria: good, moderate, poor. The results of the research showed that the studentsâ perception of the orientation services of class X SMA Negeri 4 Yogyakarta are categorized as good, moderate, and poor, reaching the average percentage of each are 49%, 51%, and 0%, respectively. The results of this study can be used as consideration for the guidance and counseling teachers in developing orientation services in accordance with the studentsâ needs and interests]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to know the effectiveness of group counseling service to improve the learning concentration of the students holding Road to Prosperity Cards (KMS-Kartu Menuju Sejahtera). The research employed action research in the implementation. The subject of the research is five students from grade VIII of SMP Negeri 15 Yogyakarta which were selected using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using the quessionaire on learning concentration and observation guidelines. To examine the effectiveness of group counseling service, the data is analyzed using t-test formula. The data analysis results show the t-value of 9.215 > t table (2.2776). The average score of the pretest on learning concentration was 145.4. The score improved at the post test on learning concentration, showing the average score of 167.4. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that group counseling service is effective to improve the learning concentration of the students holding Road to Prosperity Card. This research can be used by the teachers of guidance and counseling to help the students to improve their learning concentration through group counseling service.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the effectiveness of value clarification techniques in raising the elementary school studentsâ awareness towards the value of the academic responsibilities. This is an experimental studies in which one group possesed in pretestt-posttest design. There were eight participants of elementary school students. They were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used for collecting the data was the scale of awareness towards the value of the academic responsibilities for elementary school students. The data were analyzed using the nonparametric statistical test of Wilcoxon sign rank test. The results of the analysis showed that there is a different value (z) -2.524 in a significant degree of < 0.05. The pretest results showed that the average score of the elementary school studentsâ awareness towards the value of the academic responsibilities was 66, on the other hand, the posttest results showed that the average score was 94,5. Based on this study, it can be concluded that value clarification techniques is effective in raising the elementary school studentsâ awareness towards the value of the academic responsibilities. The is study can be used as the consideration for counseling teachers in providing a wide range of guidance and counseling services especially on the developing the studentsâ value of the academic responsibilities through value clarification techniques.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research is to know the role of learning motivation, self-efficacy and family support in self-regulated learning of the 11th grade of SMA N 2 Bantulâs Students. There were as many as 248 students in the population of the 11th grade of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul and 72 of them were selected as samples using cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected by using learning motivation scale, self-efficacy, family support and self-regulated learning. The data analysis technique made use of multiple regression analysis and partial correlation technique. The regression analysis indicated positive correlation between learning motivation, self-efficacy and family support, and self-regulated learning with F value of 37.345, p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). There was positive impact of learning motivation to Self-Regulated Learning with t = 2.767, p = 0.007 (p < 0.05). There was a positive role of Self-Efficacy to Self-Regulated Learning with t = 3.532 and p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), a positive role of Family Support to Self- Regulated Learning with t = 2.267 and p = 0.027 (p < 0.05). This research can be used as a reference in the field of guidance and counseling, psychological counseling, or school psychology program within which it was mainly related to the increase in motivation, self-efficacy, social support families and self-regulated learning in learning activities of the students.]]>
